Here is a tasting for my brown porter. The other keg that I made of this beer was aged with coconut. Can’t wait to compare!
Appearance: Thick and Chocolate colored, and cloudy. I’m really glad I finally bought a bunch more irish moss
Nose: Hoppy nose that smells like goldings, which makes sense, cuz I used a bunch
Taste: The beginning of the taste is an assertive Goldings bitterness. It quickly turns into a malty chocolate flavor. The end has a hoppy bitterness
Mouthfeel: Very smooth with a slight chalky aspect
Overall: Cut down on the 60 min hop addition or let this beer age another month next time. Outside of that, a very delicious beer. 7.2 out of 10
Coconut Porter, one of the few specialty/fruit/spice beers I really enjoy. Seems like it is a mini trend that is catching on.
